I have written most of my articles for this newsletter on
Saturday evening or on Sunday morning after ICON's monthly
meeting. I have always drawn inspiration from some of the
activities or conversations from our gathering, but the printers'
workload has continually increased so they have had to push
our press deadline back a couple of weeks. Beginning with
this issue, we will be required to have the next month's issue
in their office earlier than in the past, so I am struggling
with this first one.
Change is a good thing because it makes us grow, and ICON
continues to grow as well. As officers, we have to plan farther
ahead than in the past in order to keep our activities organized.
If you have ideas for good programs or new SIGs that would
be helpful, please let me know. As officers, we get so caught
up in the operation of ICON that sometimes we can't see the
forest for the trees.
We had a great program at the October general meeting with
Woody Walton presenting Microsoft's offerings for this holiday
season. Autumn is well under way and the holidays are just
around the corner. Be sure to attend the November meeting.
Our program will feature a representative from Bank of America
who will explain features of their "online" banking
service.
We will have a holiday party again this year but due to scheduling
conflicts, it will take place on December 28th rather than
before Christmas. In an effort to plan accurately for the
number of people who plan to attend, we will be selling tickets
for 50 cents. The proceeds will help pay for all the gifts.
We had a great meal and a lot of fun last year so be sure
to get your tickets from our secretary, Bill Patrick.
The web site has a completely new look to go along with our
new logo. The next few activities always appear on the home
page and the complete calendar is just a click away. Log on
and check it out at:
