Consumer World

This has over 2,000 consumer resources. You can locate almost anything that can be construed to be about/for consumers. And what isn't? You can also sign up for a weekly newsletter that will bring you even more information.

Reference Desk

Here's a site that will let you locate almost anything you can think of, from an atomic clock to the Old Farmer's Almanac and everything in between. It should take hours even to skim the surface of this one.

Internet Movie Database

The Internet Movie Database will give you reviews of the latest movies as well as a lot of background information on them. You can also search the database very easily to find old movies that may show up on TV. If you're a movie fan, this will give you much background and extra information about your favorite moves and their stars informed.

Bug Review

This site may be more useful in the spring and summer when weird things are eating your garden, but it's a pretty complete discussion of lawn and garden insects and what to do to control them.

Grand Illusions

This one is not very useful, but is fun. Try the pinwheel illusion - if you dare!

Classic Reader

Classic Reader is a marvelous resource for readers who never got around to Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" or have yet to discover P.G. Wodehouse. With seven categories of literature, from fiction to drama, new titles are added regularly. You won't find Stephen King or Tom Clancy because all books published on the site are out-of-copyright, but you will find Virginia Woolf, Balzac, Tolstoy - enough reading to hide out on a desert island for years, if only your ISP would accommodate you.
