AMORPHOSCAPES

I took this description verbatim from Charles Kessler's Cool Tricks and Trinkets Newsletter. I had no idea of what to expect from the site. Try it, you'll be surprised. Click in various spots on the screen to see if you can make things change. Weird, but interesting.

"Stanza creates net-specific multimedia art to explore the audio-visual relationships between art and science. The digital interactive paintings and drawings are on view at Amorphoscapes by Stanza, incorporating generative sounds and 3D imaging in a seductive non-linear experience.

Cellular forms replicate, intricate webs evolve, moods and colors fuse and sounds pulse as users navigate though the works to change image, sound, even lighting. Some pieces "generate" as the user controls evolving pieces to change the character in a unique way and can either explore further or just watch as the piece changes itself. In Cellular Automata, cells generate and move when the user makes them do so. Matrixcity is an industrial environment of wires that move through an abstract space with clunks and squeaks. Stanza's work has been exhibited internationally, winning several world-wide net art awards."

ROADTRIPS

If you're bored with speeding along on the interstates, try planning a trip using this site as a guide. It covers many old major highways, with very good detail about what to see and where to stay. I checked out a couple of the routes and am ready to take off!

JUST FOR FUN

Ever been mad enough at your television set or computer to want to shoot it? Before you do, visit this site to see what will happen! It's a fun little excerpt, but How Stuff Works is a really good site that will explain almost anything.

SCRAPBOOKING HELP

If you're into scrapbooking, take a look at this site. Every month there is a new FREE paper-piecing pattern available. Go to the home page and there's a lot more information. Since I'm not even sure what scrapbooking is, it was lost on me, but looked quite authoritative!
