Wow, picnic time again! It seems like it was just a few months ago that we were having our 2002 picnic! The older I get, the faster the months turn into years, and the years turn into my daughter growing up. Sarah and I just arranged for her to get her first car. I hope she will maintain it better than she maintains her computer! ;-) If you drive through Bolivar, please watch out for the other "girl."

We launched ICON'S "Help Forum" in August with a program by our webmaster, Sarah Marshall, who worked countless hours to make sure it works the way it is supposed to (that is: simple enough for me to understand). I am very proud to say that ICON'S members are the beneficiaries of her knowledge and ability. Please take advantage of this wonderful means of sharing information by going to our web site and clicking the link: Forums on the home page. Follow the instructions for registration and usage. This new feature of the web site is one of the most helpful programs we have ever had.

ICON'S new public address system was featured at the August meeting and everyone was able to hear Sarah with no effort as she explained and demonstrated the online forum. The addition of this P. A. system to our equipment will be a huge benefit for us. We opted for a professional model that will grow with the organization and should serve us well for many years to come.

ICON is very dear to my heart, and my vision for the organization is far reaching. We are on the verge of being an "icon" of good citizenship and public service for our community. I am proud to be associated with each of you and the organization as a whole.
