Autumn greetings to everyone. I hope all
of you are well and enjoying your computers. I had a great time
at the picnic. I want to thank all who helped make it a success.
When we work together, there is nothing we can't accomplish.
Change is inevitable in our lives. Summer gives way to autumn and
old gives way to new in the world of computer technology. I've been
thinking about how much ICON has grown and changed in the last couple
of years
with the addition of two new SIGs, a complete re-work
and upgrade for our web site including the addition of a calendar
and ICON'S very own "Members' Forums." We also added to
our equipment with the purchase of two laptop computers and the
new public address system. Along with our long-standing outreach
through St John's seniors program, ICON also provides volunteer
support at "The Edge Community Technology Center." I am
very proud of our organization; we can do great things in the community
if we set our minds to it!
What would you like to see ICON accomplish? If you were our leader,
where would you like to see the organization go in the future? What
would you like to see us do better, or different? I see my job as
an officer as trying to help ICON grow, and enabling whatever programs
and training that you, the members want. Be sure to read Sarah Marshall's
report on the results of
our recent online survey elsewhere in this newsletter. It does
make a difference when you participate.
Happy Computing
Terry
