Picture It Publishing is certainly a large program with lots of
features. I own an earlier version that came packaged with "Picture
It", the photo program, and this version has much more with
it.
It has 250,000 unique images and 15,000 project templates, according
to the box. I didn't count them! With this program you can make
greeting cards, multimedia greetings, invitations, calendars, newsletters,
announcements, posters, banners, flyers, signs, labels, stickers,
stationery sets, party sets, party hats, certificates, awards, personal
web pages, masks, trading cards, activity books, coloring books,
gift boxes, gift tags, video labels, recipe cards and more!
It is easy to use, although not as intuitive as some. It does have
good help features including little movies that illustrate exactly
how to accomplish things. It has a large number of nice pre-made
cards and the ability to create almost unlimited ones on your own.
I don't like the way you must go back to the beginning and reselect
everything when you are selecting graphics. If you're doing flowers
and want to add or change what you've already got, the program takes
you to the beginning rather than back to the last section you were
working in. (There is always the possibility that it will do this
properly but I haven't figured it out!)
It does put everything on the card as a layer, which means you're
not fighting to get the text off the picture or vice versa. It makes
it easy to create your own graphics by combining individual ones,
too. There is an excellent selection of graphics on the five CD's
that make up the set, and you can get even more online.
I'm not a big user of card making programs, but this is a nice
one. Someone who spent some time with it could really create some
wonderful things without too much effort.
