As was announced at ICON'S November monthly meeting, the Surf the Net SIG, normally held on the second Saturday of each month from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. is being retired. A new ICON activity, as yet unnamed, will fill that time slot, offering mini-seminars on a variety of topics.

The first of these mini-seminars, entitled "Too Hot to Handle?" will be presented on December 13 at 9:30 a.m. in the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library's basement meeting room. Seminar leader, Sarah Marshall, will give a brief presentation on compact discs, then demonstrate the burning of CD's using Windows XP, Roxio Easy CD Creator, and Nero Burning software.

The majority of ICON'S members now have CD-RW drives, and questions abound about how to use them. Bring your questions, and join us on December 13.
