ICON President Terry Roberts greeted everyone present, introducing
ICON'S newest members and visitors. We met in the auditorium at
The Library Center starting 1:00 PM.
Terry announced that the Surf-the-Net SIG would be changed to a
more informational SIG, covering a number of subjects each month,
with the first meeting being held on December 13th 9:30 AM at Carnegie
Midtown Library Branch. Sarah Marshall will be doing a demonstration
using your writable CD drive, copying and burning a CD. Each month
look for a new subject at this mini-seminar. Everyone was reminded
that on December 20th, after a brief ICON meeting, a Christmas Party
is planned at the Old Country Buffet, 1536 S Glenstone at 3:00 PM
until 7:00 PM. Tickets are being sold @ 50¢ each to get a head
count, because of ICON'S reservation requirements, this is a GO
DUTCH BUFFET. Door Prizes will be given out. Other officers gave
brief announcements.
ICON'S Program Chairman, Nancy Preffitt scheduled David Schmidt
and Grant Olson of Best Buy who presented our program. They had
a video on wireless technology for home and business. Gone are the
3 ½ disk drives in new computers. Your printers and other
hardware are now connected through the USB ports.
After a question and answer period, this meeting closed at 3:00
PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Bill Patrick, Secretary
