ICON'S President, Terry Roberts opened this meeting being held in Auditorium of The Library Center 4653 S Campbell 1:00 PM by welcoming everyone present; many visitors and members were in attendance. Mentioned were help stations being set up around the room would be ready for your questions after today's program.

Terry encouraged everyone to log onto ICON'S Forum. The web page address is: www.iconusersgroup.org. for posting computer and software questions under announcements. A windows class is scheduled on January 22nd 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM at The Library Center. Space being limited to 15.

On Saturday January 24 at the Midtown Library, Genealogy SIG starts at 9:30 AM, Digital Imaging SIG starts at 11:30 AM. Then at 1:30 PM. The Windows SIG.

It was announced that ICON'S projector viewer bulb has gone out and that we were looking for a replacement.

Bill Patrick reminded us that ICON'S annual election of officers and committee chairmen is approaching. After other brief announcements our guest, Bonnie Brockman, instructor for SPEAKING SOLUTIONS INC. did a presentation on how the speech recognition program works on a computer. Just by speaking commands into the microphone , the computer followed instructions. A document was prepared, then formatted without touching the mouse or keyboard. This was amazing, and had all of our attention. After questions and thanks to Bonnie, this meeting ended at 3:15 PM.
