ICON'S regular monthly meeting was held at The library Center
4653 South Campbell, starting at 1 pm; this meeting was planned
to coincide with ICON'S 14th anniversary celebration. Terry
Roberts and Sarah Marshall served refreshments on the patio
prior to the meeting -- cake, coffee and punch. Sarah Marshall,
Elizabeth Jones and Myrtle Hilbruner furnished the choice
of cakes. Comment that were overheard was: ICON sure has good
cooks.
Vice-President Nancy Preffitt opened the meeting at 1:00
PM welcoming every one present and also welcomed ICON'S newest
members who were given a big hand of applause.
Terry Roberts & ICON'S Secretary reported that a number
of Charter members have continued their active membership
and support since closing of the charter June 30, 1990. These
members are Bill and Faye Patrick, Charles Roberts, Gordon
and Edith Breshears, John Loveland, Carolyn and Ken Lawson.
Terry Roberts asked all to mark their calendar and invite
your friends for Saturday July 17th, 1:00 PM meeting, which
is being held in St John's Mid-America Cancer Center, 2005
South Fremont Avenue. ICON will welcome Tanya Lux, a Corel
Draw presenter. She is looking forward to showing you the
latest version of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite at our meeting
in July.

Details: Tanya Lux came to Corel to fulfill the position of
Training-Product Specialist in July of 2002.Tanya is now based
in Chicago, IL. After graduating college she went on to work
as a graphic artist for 6 years. The variety of positions
she held were Advertising Director of a Wildlife Park, Head
Graphic Artist for a newspaper, Art Director of a Chicago
based Advertising Agency and work on many Freelance design
projects for a variety of clients. Over the past 5 years,
she has focused on evangelizing software for MetaCreations,
Macromedia and now Corel. She has conducted hundreds of seminars
& trainings within the U.S., Canada & Asia focusing
on a variety of design and development topics.
After other reports and comments, David Oliver did our program
Using Partition Magic and Drive Image; David kept our attention
for over one hour, and then answered questions. After other
reports and comments this meeting adjourned at 3 pm .
