| ASTROPIX
This is another of the pretty picture sites I'm so fond of,
but this is also much more. You can enjoy breathtaking photos
of stars, galaxies, comets, etc., and then delve more deeply
into the site. There are articles explaining all sorts of
photography methods, weird happenings to the author, and many
other subjects. You can easily spend a couple of hours here.

THE LIVING INTERNET
We all use it, but how many of us really know what the Internet
is and how it has developed into the World Wide Web of business,
culture and international communication that it is today?
This great free resource is essentially an "Internet's
guide to the history of the Internet", a fascinating
and educational tour of its creation and evolution.

CHEAP GASOLINE
If you've been trying to find the cheapest gas around town,
go to this site before you drive. You can enter your ZIP code
and get a listing of the area stations with the lowest prices.
As I write this, it's $1.73 at five or six stations, mostly
on the south side. You apparently can register and enter prices
on your own.

WHAT MOVIE TO RENT?
Don't avoid renting movies because you don't know which one
to see. Visit this site and they'll do a personality profile
and recommend some for you. The only problem I had was that
I'd either already seen the film or it's one I don't want
to. The site kept trying. I got bored after about twenty times
and signed out. (All they ask for is a user name, so I doubt
I'll get a lot of e-mail. They're affiliated with Net Flick,
the Internet/mail rental place.)

MOST FREQUENTLY MISPRONOUNCED WORDS
Those of you who like to moan about the degradation of the
English language may like this site and it's listing of the
one hundred most often mispronounced words. I found a few
that I use wrongly, so I guess I'm contributing to the downfall!
