Q. How can I get rid of the dots between words and the paragraph symbols in MS Word?

A. The dots between words are space characters and the paragraph marks showing are where you've pressed Enter. These characters are not printed, but can help with formatting. To turn them off, simply click on the Show/Hide all characters icon on the Standard Buttons Toolbar. (Online Editor's Note: Click the image below to see it full-sized. Use your browser's Back button to return here.)

Q. In Outlook Express I can receive mail, but am unable to send mail?

A. With Outlook Express open, click on Tools > Accounts > Mail tab > Properties.

In the Properties window, click on the Servers tab. If your mail server is a POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3), your Outgoing mail should be like it with the exception of starting with SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol).
Correct the address and press OK. If your mail server is a different type, your Internet Service Provider can give you the information you need.

*If left or right mouse click is not designated, left click.
