Q.
Can the size of the cursor be adjusted? My cursor is so fat, I have difficulty seeing where I’m putting it.
|
|
A.
I’m sorry you’re having so much trouble, but yes, the width of the cursor can be adjusted. Follow the path Start > Control Panel > Accessibility Options > Display > Cursor Options. There are two slider bars, one to adjust the Blink Rate from None to Fast, and one to adjust the Thickness of the cursor from Narrow to Wide. Just put your mouse pointer on the slider and move it left or right till it’s the way you like.

Q. Where is the Toggle Grid feature in MS Excel to turn the grid on and off? ?
|
A. In Excel, click on View > Toolbars > Forms. Then place the pointer on the square icon that looks like it’s filled with dots. Clicking the icon turns the grid on or off on that one sheet. I think the same probably applies in the Works Spreadsheet, but I don’t have the program to try it.

Q.
What do the terms import and export mean?
|
| A. Import means to copy information from a file into a program. Export means to create a file that can be imported into another program or another computer. For example, in MS Internet Explorer on the File menu, there is the item Import and Export… When this item is selected, it opens the Import/Export Wizard which allows you to import or export the Favorites and Cookies files. If you get a new computer or do a rebuild (reformat your hard drive and do a fresh install of the software or use the restore CD that came with your computer to do the same thing), you will want to copy or backup to some external media (floppy disks, CD, or jump drive) your address book, documents you have created, pictures you want to keep, your Internet Favorites or bookmarks, mail account settings and possibly your Cookies files. Documents and pictures can simply be copied to the external media, but in order to have a transferable file format for Favorites or Bookmarks, Cookies, Address Books, business card, calendar files or mail account settings these files have to be “exported”.
In the new system, the documents and pictures can simply be copied into the new folders. Internet Explorer or other browser must be open to import the Favorites or bookmarks and Cookies, Outlook or Outlook Express Address book must be open to import address, calendar or business card files.
Juno’s email address book can be copied and pasted just as other documents; it is located by right clicking on Start > Explore > Program Files > Juno > User0000. Copy the entire folder User0000 or click on the folder to open it and copy the file addrbook.nv. You can then copy the folder or the file into the new setup.
