ICON’S regular monthly meeting was held on Saturday February 19, 2005 at the Brentwood Library 2214 Brentwood Blvd.

President Mary Phillips opened this meeting at 1:00 PM by welcoming everyone present. Mary reminded us of the upcoming SIGS and invited ICON Members to attend & participate in these SIGS.

A nominating committee was appointed as required in our bylaws. The committee will select a slate of candidates to be announced at the March 19 th main ICON meeting.

Those serving on the committee are Chairman Bill Patrick, Lewis McKinley, Pat Gavisk, Terry Roberts and Edith Breshears.

After brief officer’s reports and other remarks, Program Chairman Terry Roberts outlined today’s program and introduced Mick Topping who presented the topic of search engines for the Internet and went into detail using the Google Search Engine, covering everything from “What is Google, search areas How Google works” and many more features. Mick answered a lot of members’ questions.

This meeting ended at 3:00 PM.
