PROGRAM NEWS AND REVIEWS

by Terry Roberts

ICON’S August 20th program, “Electronic Scrapbooking: Intro to Canon’s Photo Record 2.0” shared with us by ICON member, Harold Hunton, was very interesting and informative. Harold made CD copies of the free program, and gave them to anybody wanting one. If you missed getting yours, you can get one by contacting Harold. Based on Harold’s demonstration, Photo Record is a fun, versatile, and easy-to-use program. Many borders, backgrounds and themes are included, but users can import different ones from their computer or download them from the Internet, all for free.

Needed supplies (such as ink, photo paper, comb binders, and plastic or paperboard covers) can be purchased singly or in bulk at local office supply stores. Office Depot (and maybe others as well) will let you use their equipment at no charge to assemble your album.

Depending upon variable factors such as ink cost for your printer, number of pages, and what type of covers you choose, the total price of producing a personalized scrapbook or photo album could range from just a few dollars to over $10.00. What a great, inexpensive gift idea!

ICON’S annual picnic will be held on September 17 th, at Silver Springs Park. Purchase your tickets from Bill Patrick for only 25 cents, bring a covered side dish or dessert, enjoy a great meal and good company…It doesn’t get any better than that! Ticket proceeds go to help cover expenses and door prizes…don’t miss this special ICON event!

I’m still working on our program for October 15 th, and I’ll post it in the calendar on ICON’S web site as soon as plans are finalized. I promise it will be interesting, so mark your calendars now!

Happy Computing,
Terry
