SUDOKU

Waste a little time with this fun online game. Sudoku is a numbers puzzle game that is a bit complex and a lot of fun. Actually, it gave me a splitting headache, but I don’t like numbers. If you do, you will probably like this. http://www.puzzle.jp/letsplay/sudokuruleflash-e.html

BILL'S GAMES

Bill's Games is billed as 'free, award-winning web-based games for the whole family.' You'll find card games, solitaire and the like, puzzles, word games, board games, mazes, just about any type of game to tickle your fancy. Please be aware however, that this site will keep you occupied for hours if you're not careful!

BLOX MANIA

This is an interesting little thinking game that is controlled completely with the mouse. Your goal is to put the blocks on the square of the same color. This would seem easy, but once you move a block in one direction, it keeps moving until it hits something. This makes the game much more difficult than usual. This is one you download and play on your hard drive. There are full instructions on the site. http://www.jimmygames.net/bloxmania.htm

REMOTE CONTROL CODES

This one can be a sanity saver if you need to figure how to make your remotes work. You can determine remote control codes for all types of appliances. http://www.xdiv.com/remotes

A HISTORY LESSON

The history of computing and the story of how the Internet came to be are fascinating subjects to me . Here are some excellent links that you can use to explore it at your leisure. It hasn’t been around very long, as things go, but a lot has happened!

The HISTORY OF COMPUTING PROJECT offers a timeline of the major events in the history of computers, biographies of computer pioneers, and even a history of video games. http://www.thocp.net/

HOBBES' INTERNET TIMELINE
Gives a brief history of Internet milestones from 1957 to present.

THE INTERNET ARCHIVE

The Internet Archive has been taking "snapshots" of Internet sites since 1996 and stashing them away for posterity. To date, more than 10 billion pages have been stored in the Internet Archive's database. Using the Wayback Machine is a wonderful walk down memory lane if you've been online for a few years.
