Q. What is the keyboard shortcut for a right mouse click?

A. Shift+F10 is the same as a right mouse click, but first you have to get to the shortcut, folder, or file by pressing the key for the first letter of the name. For example to get to the Downloads shortcut on the desktop, press the letter D on the keyboard until Downloads is selected, then hold down the Shift key and press the F10 key for the drop down menu.

Q. How do I print a large document or manual using both sides of the paper if my printer isn’t equipment with a duplexer to turn the pages over?

A. It’s tricky, but it can be done if you’re vigilant. Click on File—Print.

  1. In the Print Range section select Odd Pages Only AND Reverse Order or Begin at Last Page whichever option your printer offers. Click OK. When the odd-sides pages are finished printing, Page 1 should be on top. Notice which way the pages come out of the printer so you can be sure they come out printed the same direction on the even pages. Run a test page if you’re unsure.
  2. Fan or flip the pages so none stick together and if you’re using a laser printer, let them cool before fanning and putting them in to run on the other side. It is SO aggravating to have two pages stick together and throw off all the rest of the document—SO MANY TREES WASTED!!!
  3. Click on File—Print. In the Print Range select Even Pages Only and UNCHECK Reverse Order. Click OK. Your document should finish in order ready to bind.
If you have a very big document, you may want to do sections at a time instead of the whole thing, just in case. In the Print Range area, set the pages you want to print such as 12 to 21 Odd Numbers Only Reverse Order. The computer distinguishes between odd and even numbers and it will print out pages 21, 19, 17, 15, and 13 with 13 on top. Fan your pages, and set the Properties to print 12 to 21 Even Numbers Only and uncheck reverse order. Check the direction for the paper and the printer will print out pages 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20.

Q. Since I installed Windows Media Player 10 on my computer, I’ve had problems. How do I get it off my computer?
A. If this was done recently, you can use System Restore to take your computer’s settings back to an earlier date. Follow the path: Start—Programs--Accessories—System Tools—System Restore and Restore my computer to an earlier time. Dates in bold are the ones that have restore points set and you click on the date to do the restore.

If the installation happened some time back, you can roll back to the version of the Player that was on your computer prior to installing version 10. To roll back from Media Player 10 to a previous version, follow the path: Start—Control Panel—Add/Remove Programs. If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2, check in the box beside Show updates at the top of the screen, then click Windows Media Player 10 in the Windows Update section, and click Change/Remove.

If you’re running Windows XP Service Pack 1 or earlier, click Windows Media Player 10, then click Change/Remove.
