Minutes February 18, 2006

This meeting was held at The Brentwood Library starting at 1:00 pm; many ICON Members braved the near zero cold weather to be in attendance. Mary Phillips opened this meeting by welcoming everyone present. Visitors and ICON'S newest members were recognized and given a round of applause. A nominating committee was appointed and reminded to submit names of candidates seeking office and report back at our March 18th meeting. Election of Officers will be held at the April 15th Meeting.

Newsletter Editor Faye Patrick reminded all the March Newsletter authors to submit their articles ASAP, as we want to try and get the March Newsletter mailed early.

A brief report was given on ICON'S March Of Technology March 18th - an all day Computer Fair & Trade Expo to be held 8:30 am - 5:00 pm at The Library Center - 4653 S. Campbell. Many ICON Volunteers will be needed to help with this event.

Terry Roberts reported that things were coming together daily, not all details are finalized as of this date.

The program for today was by ICON Member Harold Hunton, "Safeguard Your Important File: How long will recordable CDs last?" Harold explained that there are a number of different grades of recordable CD's with the higher quality costing somewhere over $1.00 each. From all the facts and figures we could see Harold did a lot of research on this subject. Question and answers were addressed during this presentation.

This meeting closed around 3:00 pm.

Respectfully submitted ,

Bill Patrick, secretary
