COMPUTER GROOVE MACHINE

I’m not real sure how you’ll like this one. It reminds me of those “banger” programs for babies where each key pressed put something on the screen. This is a lot more sophisticated then that, of course. Of course, maybe I think that because most of it is in French!

The simulator allows you to delegate a different sound sample to each letter on your keyboard. There are five different genres on the site, including Reggae, Techno and Electronic music. http://www.pianographique.com

SCENES FROM WESTERN CANADA

This is some guy’s personal website with pictures of a trip he took to Western Canada. Lots of beautiful scenery, and a journal that even lists prices of motels. http://www.sticksite.com/trip/

ORISINAL: LET THE GAMES BEGIN

This site is FULL of little games of all sorts. It’s a good time waster and even your children/grandchildren will enjoy it. I’m not very good at this kind of game, but there are so many, even I ought to be able to do one or two. The site is regularly updated with new interactive games to play to your hearts content. http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/

USELESS INFORMATION

This is a fun website, which is chock full of fascinating and esoteric facts. Useless Information is filled with stuff you really don’t need to know, but knowing it somehow makes your life more complete. It also gives you interesting facts to recite when the party gets dull!

Scroll through the stories to find genuinely fascinating facts from all areas of culture. You’ll learn the truth behind the 1904 Olympics, The Electric Pickle, and the invention of Band-Aids as well as who really invented the electric light bulb, the story behind SOS soap pads and lots of other offbeat items. Be sure to click on the “more stories” bar at the bottom of the first page. http://home.nycap.rr.com/useless/

MOST INTERESTING WEBCAMS OF 2005

Check out the Most Interesting Webcams of 2005 at this cool site. Judged by a group of producers at EarthCam.Com, winners include the Live Piranha WebCam in Nashville, Tennessee, the British Antarctic Vessel Cam, and even a JailCam that allows you to experience being booked into prison. http://www.earthcam.com/top25/2005/
