Wireless connectivity to our networks has given us the mobility we want and need, but in today’s environment security is more important than ever. Don’t miss ICON’S July 15 th program featuring OTC instructor and computer consultant, Kent Ward’s presentation of “Wireless Networking and Security”.
Do you ever feel there just aren’t enough hours in the day to read all the news you want to keep up on? The Library’s “Computer Hands-on with ICON” just might offer the answer for you. This month, Mick Topping will share what he has learned about listening to Podcasts. Podcasts are news broadcasts you can download to your computer or MP3 player, and listen to when you have time. Mick will cover the software and hardware you will need, and where to find Podcasts that are of interest to you. This class will be held on Tuesday, July 18, from 9:00 a.m. ‘til 3:00 p.m. at The Library Center (Harrison Room). Registration is required. Call The Library Center (874-8110) to reserve your seat.
Coming up: In August, George Schmoele of Springfield Technology will present: “Linux for Windows Users” Why you should explore Linux, and how to do so without risking your Windows PC.
See you there,
Terry
