This meeting was held in the community room of The Brentwood Library, 2214 Brentwood Blvd., starting at 1:00 p.m.

ICON’S President, Mary Phillips, opened this meeting by welcoming everyone present, introducing ICON’S newest members, and having visitors hold up their hands for a hearty welcome.

Mary announced that the officers had just come from an officers’ meeting where the following projects are under consideration: Updating ICON'S Constitution and Bylaws, and a new membership database program in Access where membership information may be updated electronically when members attend meetings. These changes should be available for your consideration at our next monthly meeting if everything goes well, the President said with her fingers crossed.

Treasurer Sarah Marshall gave an updated treasurer’s report.

Secretary Bill Patrick announced that seven past-due members had renewed their ICON memberships since the June 16th reminders were mailed out.

Richard Preffitt, Education Committee Chairperson, reported that a number of new CD tutorials have been added to the ICON library, ready to be checked out. Faye Patrick, Newsletter Editor, announced that Sunday, July 16th, was the deadline for submitting articles for ICON’S August newsletter.

Terry Roberts, Program Chairperson, announced that the scheduled speaker for today’s program wasn’t available, but a substitute had been located and the Wireless Networking & Security program presentation was still on. Terry mentioned that for the August 19th Membership Meeting at The Library Center (Auditorium) , starting shortly after 1:00 p.m.the program will be Linux System for Windows Users, and urged everyone to attend.
