Q. How can I tell all my contacts about my new email address?

A.The following directions will get the word out.

  1. Open AT&T Yahoo! Mail, and click on Options on the right-hand side of the screen.
  2. Under the Management heading, clear down at the bottom of the list is a link called Announce Email Address; click on it.
  3. An Announce Address window opens. Under Personalize Your Announcement, click on Insert from AT&T Address Book; it’s in blue text.
  4. The Address Book opens; if you want to send to everyone, click on Check All, then click the Insert Checked Contacts button. Click Next. You may want to do only 25 at a time because sometimes a spam blocker will think a message being sent to too many people is spam.
  5. Fill in the Subject line, but the custom message part isn’t necessary.
  6. Click on the Preview and Send Announcement button and you’ll see a preview of the announcement card. The card is rather nice.
  7. Click on the Send button.

Q. How do I fix my SBC Yahoo! Mail so it doesn’t ask for my password every three or four messages?

A. Try this...

  1. Open your AT&T Yahoo! Mail account, and click on Options on the right-hand side of the screen.
  2. Click on Account Information in the left-hand column.
  3. Enter your password to verify your account on the next page.
  4. On the Change Personal Information page, in the left-hand column near the bottom of the page, is Password Prompt. Click on the Edit button.
  5. Edit the Password Prompt Setting by selecting Every Day from the drop down menu.
  6. Click the Save Changes button.
Q. How do I put the Calculator shortcut on the Start Menu so it’s a quick option?
A. Follow the path Start > All Programs > Accessories > Calculator. Right click on Calculator and select Pin to Start Menu. To remove it from the Start Menu, right click on the shortcut and select Unpin from Start Menu.
Q. How do I configure MS Outlook so that a copy is kept on the ISP’s server as a backup or to access by web mail?

A. With Outlook open, click on the Tools menu, and then click E-mail Accounts.

  1. Click View or change existing e-mail accounts, then click Next.
  2. Click to select your ISP, such as pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com, and then Change.
  3. Click on More Settings.
  4. Click on the Advanced tab, and under Delivery, click a checkmark in the Leave a copy of messages on the server check box.
  5. Check the box beside Remove from server when deleted from Deleted Items, then click OK, Next, and Finish.
