Join us at Brentwood Library on January 20 to learn about avoiding undue stress, fatigue, and possible injury from working long hours at your computer. Common problems such as lower back pain, carpel tunnel syndrome, stiff neck, and general fatigue can be relieved by proper posture, stretching exercises and frequent breaks. Physical Therapist Mark Vandersnick will be our guest speaker for "Desktop Ergonomics."
Don’t forget to "Clean out Your Closet" before you come! Round up all your used (but still usable) unneeded software, hardware, peripherals, books, etc. and bring them to the meeting for someone who needs them. You might just find that "one man’s junk" is just the treasure you are in need of.
Also, join Nancy Preffitt in the "Beginners’ Corner" at 12 :30 p.m. for help with anything you have a question about! Whether you are a beginner with computers, new to ICON, or just unsure about how to get the help you need, Nancy will answer your questions or find someone who can.
On February 17, our guest will be Dan McNeil from Cartridge World. Dan will share with us the value of buying refilled (instead of new) ink cartridges, and the environmental importance of recycling our empties.
Our March 17 program will feature "Us" – ICON’s members and leaders in a round table discussion about how we can best provide the help you need.
On March 24, the second annual "March of Technology" will be held at The Library Center. The theme for this year’s event is "Technology Unwired and on the Move," focusing on wireless technology and portability. Don’t miss it!
See you soon,
Terry
