ICON's General Membership Meeting was held on January 20, 2007, in the Community Room of the Brentwood Library, 2214 Brentwood Boulevard, starting at 1:00 p.m.

President Mary Phillips made a number of announcements:

• First, that Shirley Emerson had been appointed to fill the unexpired term of Treasurer. (Online Editor's Note: Outgoing Treasurer Sarah Marshall has accepted the newly created office of Web Committee Chair.)
• That at the ICON Officers’ meeting held on January 11, 2007, it had been suggested and approved to donate ICON's used overhead projector to The Older Adult office at St. John's for helping seniors learn more about controlling and maintaining their own personal computers.
• Mary asked for a volunteer to use ICON's printer for making brochures for the upcoming March of Technology event to be held on March 24, 2007, at The Library Center on South Campbell.

Program Chairperson Terry Roberts talked about upcoming events:

• February 17, 1:00 p.m., General Membership Meeting at the Brentwood Library, "Save Money (and the Environment) Using Recycled Ink Cartridges."

Terry mentioned some of the planned events and speakers we hope to have present at ICON’sMarch of Technology event planned for March 24, 2007, at The Library Center, 4653 South Campbell, more details to be available in February.

Terry then introduced the speaker for today’s program. Physical therapist Mark Vandersnick showed and explained how to avoid stress and injury due to improper posture and poor work habits while spending time at your computer.
