Minutes of ICON's General Membership meeting February 17, 2007, held in the Brentwood Library Community Room, starting at 1:00 p.m. Mary Phillips, President, welcomed everyone present. Officers were asked to give their reports.
Nancy Preffitt reported that the vests for the March 24 March of Technology are being made for this event. In her Treasurer’s Report, Shirley Emerson mentioned that ICON had just received a check from Henry Beersman and his son, Tom. The Beersmans have collected Best Choice labels from ICON members over the years. They mail in the labels, and ICON then receives a $60 annual check.
Faye Patrick, Newsletter Editor, reminded us that the deadline was Sunday, Februray 18, for submitting articles for the March newsletter. Faye thanked all who contribute by writing monthly articles.
Mary Phillips announced that the Bylaws require that a Nominating Committee be appointed at the February meeting. Her appointments for serving on this Committee were Nancy Preffitt, Chairperson, Terry Roberts, Donna DeJong, Betty Spence and Mary Stewart. Their job will be to have one or more candidates for each office available by the March 17 meeting, to be placed on ICON's April Ballot.
Terry Roberts, Program Chairperson, introduced Mr. Dan McNeil, owner of Cartridge World, 3305 S. Campbell, whose topic was "Save Money (and the Environment) Using Recycled Ink Cartridges." Mr. McNeil answered many of our questions before heading back to his store.
This meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Bill Patrick, Secretary
