Why should I join the ICON User Group?? There are many reasons. Learn more about your PC and software programs by participating in discussions at ICON’s scheduled Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings. These meetings are held on the second and fourth Saturdays at the various Springfield libraries. To find out when and where meetings are held, receive a monthly printed newsletter by U.S. mail, or visit the ICON User Group website, www. iconusersgroup.org, for online information. Post your computer questions on ICON's Forum, and receive answers quickly without waiting until the next meeting. ICON leaders are always announcing special classes which you may attend to increase your computer knowledge .
Here is Microsoft's Mindshare reason for joining a user group:
"When you join a user group, you benefit from the support of a dedicated group of users. Members of user groups are excited about technology and enjoy sharing information, support, and tools with one another to ensure full advantage of PC software and hardware products."
A number of ICON members volunteer and do community service.
Invite your friends to join ICON, have fun and continue learning. Call any ICON member or Bill Patrick, Secretary, 417-866-1234, for more information.
From My Viewpoint
ICON's Annual Picnic Held Saturday, September 15, in Silver Springs Park.
No business was conducted, but members and friends attended. Thanks to all the officers and members who helped make this Annual Picnic a fun and successful event. The coffee pot was kept busy brewing hot coffee for the coffee drinkers on this cool day. There were no flying critters around wanting to share our food. I will mention only a couple of the workers. Cooks flipping the burgers this year were Frank Davidson and Ed Piland. Many others pitched in to help, too many to list their names. Hope to see you at next year’s Picnic.
