This meeting was called to order at 1:00 p.m. in the Brentwood Library’s meeting room. President Terry Roberts greeted everyone present and introduced ICON’s newest members and visitors, saying he was happy to see this large turnout. He then outlined today’s program, "Ergonomics and Motion," which would start at 2:00 p.m sharp.
Terry asked for brief reports from the officers, starting with Shirley Emerson, Treasurer, and Bill Patrick, Secretary. Terry made an announcement for Faye Patrick, Newsletter Editor, who was absent, that people who had articles for the February issue should get them to Faye ASAP. Then he announced that hands-on classes are being scheduled at The Library Center and The Library Station, adding that a limited number of laptop computers will be available at these classes.
Terry announced that ICON had purchased a new laptop with the Microsoft Vista operating system, because a number of members are already using the Vista operating system and ICON needs to keep up to date.
Our guest speaker, Mark Vandersnick, M.S.P.T., spoke about the proper distance to sit in front of the monitor and how to use our computers in the proper position and with the proper desk and chair height. After his presentation, Mark answered a number of the members' questions.
This meeting was adjourned at approximately 2:20 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Bill Patrick, Secretary
