INTERESTING PLACES
TO VISIT ON THE INTERNET

WORD PROCESSING ON THE NET
This is a most interesting site where you can do word processing, make spreadsheets and databases, do web
conferencing (whatever that is!), and it’s FREE. You can upload documents from Word and OpenOffice. It’s really more than I have use for, but if you’re still working you may find it a real asset. (Businesses who want to use it must pay; individuals are free.) There are templates in the word processing section that may be useful to everyone – things like automobile bills of sale, pledge forms, ID cards, resumes, speech outlines and such, that will save a lot of time if you need them. If you’re collaborating on a novel with someone, you can both work on it online. It may not rival Word, but you’ll probably find all the features you need! http://www.zoho.com

OLD PICTURE POSTCARDS
This is not a super-exciting site, but is interesting. You can look at old picture postcards from every state in the
Union. Maybe you’ll remember them. There’s one of the main street in Billings which I recognized. (Not from then, but now!) It branches off into some genealogy sites, too. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/special/ppcs/ppcs.html

NASCAR
The racing season is in full swing and if you’re a fan, you may enjoy these sites. They have lots and lots of
information from biographies of the drivers to explanations of those confusing points systems. I found two – http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar and www.nascar.com/multimedia.

WATCH TV AND MOVIES ON YOUR MONITOR
Hulu is a brand new site – opened to the public on March 12 – and offers TV shows and full-length movies that you can watch on your own time. I looked through it and there are lots of different types, but haven’t had time to try one. If you’ve missed a favorite show, you may find the rerun here. www.hulu.com
